What A Month

Hey there.
Well Christmas is almost upon us. It seems like only yesterday we were celebrating Christmas, 2011 has really flown by.
So we have been really busy this month with school (seriously this term has been hectic), being of holidays, preparing for Christmas, organising our holiday.
This term at school Rhyley went on his first school camp, this was his first trip away from home that wasn't to a relative's house! They went to Action Challenge and he had an awesome time his favourite part was the giant swing they used there and hopefully we will get some photos from school in the new year. After camp they had 2 performances to attend, swimming lessons, end of year break up party (which was a trip to the cinema to see Puss In Boots, swimming and pizza for lunch), &their Christmas Concert and Party!
We have also been busy decorating and baking for the holidays, we decorated our Christmas tree & welcomed our cheeky Elf on the Shelf to our family- his name is Bumble aka SuperElf but I will write more about him and his antics in another post (Yes! he deserves a post all to himself!)
Rhyley & I made Gingerbread Heads for his classmates this year.
They were so cute & were a BIG hit with all the kids & parents too.

I definitely need to work on my icing skills and maybe I will have to practice a little more & (of course by making more cookies) but first I will need to by some decorating goodies on the web since they're harder to find here.
I got the idea for these Gingerbread Heads from Bakerella's website (I swapped Molasses for Golden Syrup that's why mine are lighter).

I packaged two of them up in a bag with a topper I made using Dear Santa & Jolly Gingerbread Elements from Peppermint Creative & Cookies for Santa by Kate Hadfield

We also made Rhyley's teacher Mrs Dyson a Crayon Art Monogram and these adorable Apple Containers which we filled with Mini Toblerones!

I got the idea for the "apples" here.
I made the apples out of recycled 600ml soft drink bottles & added a few "tweeks" by adding a piece of bottle to make a lip to place the lid on top.

Anyway onto sharing with you some more layouts I have completed:

Layouts from July:
The Frosted Fun Elements & Papers where perfect for scrapping these photos of Rhyley first ice-skating attempt :)

Well this post is alot longer than I expected so I will wrap it up for now.

Just Call Me...

Busy Bee!

Wow it has been so long since I showed my blog some love!
Well we went to Sydney to see AC/DC Black Ice Concert.
We left home on the 19th February and drove down to Mum and Dad's where we stayed the night.
On the Saturday we got up at the ungodly hour of 2:30am and got ready to head off to Maitland to pick up my Dad then continue on to Sydney!
This would have been fine if Rhyley hadn't mucked around being silly and refusing to go to sleep until I had him in the bed with us patting him to sleep, so needless to say I got very little sleep about 2 hours if that!

Luckily I got to have a nap in the car before we swapped over so Jason could rest. We finally arrived in Maitland and got to spend some time with Mum before heading off to Sydney.
Rhyley decided he wanted to drive the rest of the way with Poppy so we followed them.
We finally arrived in Sydney and at our hotel at about 4pm!
We checked in and got changed then we caught a taxi to the train station and caught two trains to Olympic Park!

There were thousands of people there it was amazing!
We grabbed some dinner and sat down and ate after that Jason took Rhyley over to the Olympic Cauldron from the 2000 games, and is now a water feature and took some photos!
Then we headed in to ANZ Stadium the concert was AWESOME!!!! and I am by no means an AC/DC fan but it was well worth it!

After the concert we headed back to the hotel and Dad headed back to Maitland because he had to work the next day.
The next day we drove to Bondi Beach, Rhyley had been looking forward to going there for weeks before our trip away and we all had great fun!
Rhyley and Daddy went swimming then played in the sand building sand castles.
Rhyley was upset when he was told it was time to leave.

We headed home on the Monday and had an enjoyable less rushed trip back not having to worry about what time we got back to much because Rhyley was having the next off school to recover and catch up on any lost sleep.

Anyway I really must get to bed I will write tomorrow about my new University course I have started but until then I will leave you with another two pages I have done since I last posted.

Happy Australia Day!

Well today is Australia Day and to celebrate we headed to the local swimming pool for their Family Fun Day!
We decided to go in the afternoon to avoid the crowds and it was a good decision many people said it had been packed in the morning and wished they had thought to come later in the day.
After swimming we headed back home and we watched UP! I have to say that this movie is fantastic and really enjoyable for all the family. While we were watching the movie we had dinner and then we headed to Cameron Park for the Australia Day Festival which had local bands playing, rides and of course fireworks!
After the fireworks we headed home Rhyley got ready for bed as he has school tomorrow!

Until next time,
