Happy Weekend!

Yeah it is the weekend!
Wow this week went so quickly guess having a public holiday on Tuesday and school going back helps to speed the week up.
So tonight I check the calendar to work out how we are sitting budget wise for our trip to Sydney next month and I nearly died when I realised that it is only 3 weeks away!

Back in December when I got the tickets for the AC/DC Concert I thought it was so far away but now it seems so close!
Where did it go?
After pondering this I decided to get stuck in to some more scraping and scraped our Australia Day photos.

So here is today's layout:

Look Out Grade 3....

Here Rhyley comes!

Yes today was the first day back at school for 2010 and this year Rhyley is in Grade 3!
I can't believe that he is almost half way finished with primary school.
It's a little sad really that he is growing up so fast :(

Jason had organised to start late so he could also be there to see Rhyley off on his first day.
So we got up this morning and got ready for school with very little drama.
The drama only started when I told Rhyley I wanted to take photos of him before we could leave for school. After a little whining he agreed if I was quick because he wanted to get to school.
So I quickly snapped some photos.

We arrived at school and went up to his classroom and meet his lovely teacher Mrs Hayes we spoke to her a little about Rhyley's occupational therapy needs and she said she's have a chat with Miss Delley - Rhyley's Grade 2 teacher.

That afternoon I picked Rhyley up and as we walked home he told me all about his first day.
He had a great day and he really likes Mrs Hayes!

Happy Australia Day!

Well today is Australia Day and to celebrate we headed to the local swimming pool for their Family Fun Day!
We decided to go in the afternoon to avoid the crowds and it was a good decision many people said it had been packed in the morning and wished they had thought to come later in the day.
After swimming we headed back home and we watched UP! I have to say that this movie is fantastic and really enjoyable for all the family. While we were watching the movie we had dinner and then we headed to Cameron Park for the Australia Day Festival which had local bands playing, rides and of course fireworks!
After the fireworks we headed home Rhyley got ready for bed as he has school tomorrow!

Until next time,

Preparing

Well I have been preparing for Rhyley's return to school next week!
We have gotten all his new uniforms and books he needed for this year this week.
All there is left to do now since I washed all his uniforms today is to cover his books with contact.
You wouldn't imagine that there would be a shortage of contact but there is!
I went to four stores only to be told they were sold out, before going to Kmart and finally being able to get some, I also had to go the newsagent because Kmart only had enough for a third of the books I have to cover but I finally got enough and get these books covered and packed in his bag for school on Wednesday.

Anyway here are some layouts I managed to get done this week:

Mmmm....

Well we have been busy with school holidays which really doesn't allow me to scrap very often during the day so I have had to leave it until night which usually means I am to tired to scrap so it has been left at the wayside a little lately.

So here are some on the layouts I have been able to get done lately:

Back At It

Well Jason went back to work today!
We spent the weekend together relaxing between household chores.

So it was just me and Rhyley home today.
We played outside for a little while he rode his bike around the yard then gave his scooter a work out.
But because it is raining on and off here we couldn't play long. We went inside and both with rumbling tummies decided it was time for lunch.
We made scrambled eggs together Rhyley cracking the eggs into the bowl for while I chopped up some cheese and tomato to add to it.
While I cooked the eggs Rhyley washed up some plates and dried them feeling very grown up.
We ate our lunch and since it was still raining Rhyley watched Wipeout Australia which he loves and I decided to scrap a new page.

Welcome 2010!

We decided to come home early from Ballina so we could ring in the New Year together as a family.

We didn't do anything special though. We watched a movie together Back to the Future which Rhyley loved then we began to watch a New Year's Eve special with Rhyley trying desperately to stay awake for the fireworks.
Eleven o'clock neared and he was trying so hard to stay up but kept nodding off on the lounge until finally he resolved it was time for bed but not before making us pinkie swear to wake him before the fireworks were on.
We promised and Jason tucked him in, at quarter to twelve Jason went in to wake him and nothing! So I tried, waking him gently and telling him not long until the fireworks he sat up, looked around, closed his eyes again and promptly fell back on his pillows fast asleep.

So Jason and I snuggled on the lounge together and watched the fireworks and wished each other a Happy New Year and resolved that 2010 was going to be our year for good things to happen too and to realise our dreams and goals.

So here's to 2010 may it be all you wish for!
